Michelle Denny Recruitment is collaborating with the office interior design specialists ‘Border Projects Ltd’ who are situated right on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, in the market town of Diss. We’re looking for an Estimator to join the small but perfectly formed team and with a salary ranging from £35,000 - £45,000pa plus a discretionary annual bonus, your estimating experience could be just what they are looking for. The position can be hybrid if this is your preference, with either full or part time hours open to discussion.
With the company’s aim to turn office design dreams into reality, you’ll be working side-by-side with the Directors, with your activities stretching across estimating and project administration as well as Health & Safety. You’ll be liaising with East Anglia clients big & small (and medium…) across varied industries and your understanding of what each client’s project aspirations are, along with your ability to find cost effective solutions, will be key to building lasting, strong working relationships. Tasks and objectives will include:
Preparation of quotations and schedule of works from survey notes, in-house generated plans or a client supplied or professional brief
Ensure Building Regulations are adhered to
Formulation of costings from information derived from supplier lists, material enquiries (for elements from sub-contractor elements such as air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, electrical and specialist trades etc)
Preparation of H&S plans (training can be provided)
Design and drawing work using AutoCAD LT (training can be provided), including adding detail for Building Control
Managing materials and scheduling; preparing and placing orders with suppliers and subs
Preparation of site files, giving project details and instructions for site teams
Occasional necessity for site visits
Experience and personal qualities:
Practical experience working in an Estimator/Project Management role
Good IT skills with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
Health & Safety knowledge would great, although formal training/qualification can be provided
Ideally, experience using AutoCAD LT, (again, training can be provided as needed)
Friendly communicator, proactive and not shy of chasing matters up!

Holiday entitlement is 25 days plus BH's
Salary range of £35,000 - £45,000 determined by and experience
Potential for part time hours (3-4 days per week - holiday and pay pro-rata)
Hybrid working option if desired (following 3 month probationary period)
Core full time hours of 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, with an hour’s lunch
Discretionary annual bonus
