Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside Merit Plastic Mouldings in Diss, Norfolk to find a Manufacturing Teams Lead to join the energetic Operations team. Salary is £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience and has a working week of Monday to Friday, with core hours of 08:00 – 16:30.
This Manufacturing Teams Lead opportunity is really something out of the ordinary, especially if you’ve been looking for an autonomous, hands-on role that will allow you the scope to make your mark and progress. You’ll be the central point for the company’s manufacturing and production functions, mentoring & coaching factory teams and their leaders, overseeing procedures and identifying process improvements.
You will have the full support of the senior management team to run and troubleshoot this crucial department to ensure optimum efficiency to keep customers and employees well-served.
Snapshot of responsibilities: (there is a detailed job description available)
Provide support to the Production & Quality departments, attending regular meetings to identify problems in current and future production, resolving any technical and resource challenges
Maintain active inter-departmental coordination, communication and cooperation
To actively participate and implement projects and initiatives
To lead, mentor and coach the shop floor workforce to ensure they fulfil their potential
Ensure shifts have adequate holiday and absence cover
Participate and lead training to ensure standards are maintained across all shifts
Identify and track areas for process improvements
Make certain shifts are operated safely and comply with all HSE rules and regs
Report changes to job specifications and production procedures which may have operational impact
Aim to better the utilisation of company procedures to drive efficiencies within the business
Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to ensure quality & production requirements are maintained
Liaise with the Engineering department to provide suppliers with accurate and timely information to ensure production deadlines can be met
What you’ll need:
Experience in a similar production/operations/technical position
Accurate IT skills with the ability to pick up various internal systems with general experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook
Good time management and the ability to run with the changes
Strong communication skills both written and spoken
A mechanical mind, with a hands-on, practical approach
A personable, friendly, communicative and collaborative team-spirited style
