Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside Merit Plastic Mouldings in Diss to find them a Production Tech Engineer to join the energetic Operations team. Salary is up to £36,000pa for an experienced person and has a working week of 8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
This Production Engineer opportunity is an appealing one, particularly if you’ve been looking for a role that gives you both hands-on and team support/development responsibilities, and which will allow you the scope to make a positive impact and progress.
You’ll be providing technical support to the factory floor, assisting with optimisations, troubleshooting, process improvements and mentoring the trusted body of Team Leaders, all with the shared aim to have the site run efficiently, cost effectively and of course, happily.
Overview of responsibilities: (there is a job description available)
To provide technical support and training to the Production and Quality departments
Tool setting, changing and optimisations
Attend regular meetings with the production, QA and Technical departments to identify production issues
Contribute to the implementation of projects and new initiatives
Report any changes to job specifications and production procedures
Assist in ensuring teams work to set process and quality procedures
Actively participate and lead training and development programmes
Maintain active inter-departmental co-ordination, communication and co-operation
Work in compliance with all H&SE statutory rules and regulations
Monitor tooling condition using the reporting system to ensure that quality and production requirements are maintained
Cover for shift team leader holidays as needed
What you’ll need:
Experience working in a similar production/engineering role
Superb communications skills across all levels
Ability to work with intricate attention to detail
Sound knowledge and understanding of tooling
Good time management and the ability to run with the changes
A personable, friendly, communicative and team-spirited approach
