Michelle Denny Recruitment is working with Merit Plastic Mouldings, a successful organisation in the plastic moulding industry, based in Diss, Norfolk. We are looking for a Production Technician to join the team, with a salary of up to £30,000pa dependant on experience. Monday to Friday hours, on a two-week rotating shift of 6am-2pm | 2pm-10pm.
The role of a Production Technician will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production process within this industrial environment and you’ll be responsible for performing various tasks related to equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance to meet production targets and quality standards.
Key duties:
Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up and calibrate production equipment according to specifications and standard operating procedures. Operate machinery when needed and monitor the production process to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and inspections at different stages of the production process to verify product conformity. Identify and address any issues or deviations from quality standards promptly.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions or technical issues that may arise during production. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
Production Support: Assist in the coordination and execution of production schedules and priorities. Collaborate with other team members, such as engineers, supervisors, and operators, to streamline production processes and improve productivity.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Comply with relevant regulations, such as health and safety standards and good practices, to ensure product quality and employee well-being.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements within the production area. Contribute to problem-solving initiatives and suggest innovative ideas to enhance overall production performance.
Supervisory: Supervising the shift in the absence of the Team Leader as necessary.
What you’ll need:
Experience ideally from a plastics manufacturing/production environment
Excellent communication skills
An eye for detail and an inquisitive mind
Friendly and team orientated persona
