Lead Change Where It Matters Most: Chair of CADAT
Michelle Denny Recruitment Consultancy is proud to be supporting Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford and District (CADAT) in the recruitment of their next Chair of the Board – an exciting and meaningful opportunity to lead an organisation that provides vital support across Norfolk, Suffolk and the surrounding areas.
CADAT plays a crucial role in the community, offering accessible advice and guidance through a network of outreach programmes, pop-ups and partnerships. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to stand alongside individuals and families facing life’s challenges.
About the Role:
The Chair will lead the Board of Trustees, working closely with the CEO and Board members to develop and deliver CADAT’s strategic aims. Acting as a visible ambassador, the Chair will also play a key part in strengthening partnerships, promoting services and supporting essential fundraising efforts.
This is an influential, hands-on leadership role – perfect for someone passionate about making a real difference at both strategic and community levels.
Key Attributes and Experience:
Proven experience of Board-level leadership and / or governance.
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to drive growth and innovation.
Financial acumen to oversee budgets, financial plans and sustainability.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage a range of stakeholders.
A deep commitment to CADAT’s mission, values and people.
Experience within any industry will be considered and does not have to be within the charity or NFP sectors. A comprehensive and supportive handover will be provided by the current Chair (who will remain as Deputy Chair and Trustee for up to a year) to ensure a smooth transition.
Why Join CADAT?
CADAT’s services are vital – offering free, confidential and impartial advice on matters such as housing, benefits, debt and employment. Their work is trusted, needed and transformative.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of an organisation that truly matters, working alongside a team of talented Trustees, dedicated staff and passionate volunteers to drive meaningful social impact.
Practical Information:
Location: Norfolk and surrounding areas
Time Commitment: Approximately 14 hours per month (including Board meetings, Committee meetings, AGM and ad-hoc events)
Remuneration: Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed)
