Are you ACA or ACCA qualified, with significant post qualified experience in accountancy practice and ready for a role with genuine management responsibility? Michelle Denny Recruitment is recruiting an Accountancy Manager for a respected accountancy practice in Diss. This is a senior role combining client portfolio management with team leadership, mentoring and business development, working closely with senior management and Partners.

You'll take responsibility for key client relationships while helping to develop the people around you and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

What you'll be doing

This is a broad management role where you'll have responsibility for clients, people and the wider development of the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of key clients and building strong, long term relationships

• Overseeing client work and ensuring a consistently high standard of service

• Managing, supporting and developing members of the team

• Providing regular feedback, coaching and mentoring

• Carrying out performance reviews, 121s and development conversations

• Supporting the development of Seniors and Assistant Managers

• Managing workloads and resources across the team

• Reviewing and carrying out more complex accountancy work

• Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to wider services

• Supporting proposals and tenders for new business

• Building relationships with professional contacts and referrers

• Representing the business at networking, marketing and other external events

• Working closely with Partners and senior colleagues to support the wider objectives of the business

What you'll bring

You'll need to be ACA, ACCA or equivalently qualified, with significant post qualified experience gained within an accountancy practice.

We're also looking for:

• Experience managing a portfolio of clients

• Previous responsibility for managing and developing a team

• Strong coaching and mentoring skills

• A positive, confident leadership style

• Excellent client relationship and communication skills

• Experience of networking and building relationships with professional referrers

• Commercial awareness and the confidence to identify opportunities with clients

• The ability to organise your own workload while coordinating the work of others

• A proactive, solution focused approach

• The ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines

Experience of recruitment and wider firm responsibilities would be useful, but isn't essential.
