Construction Trainer

Open Road Norfolk is opening a brand new training centre in Thetford, supporting young people aged 14 to 16 who have found challenges within mainstream education. We are recruiting a Construction Trainer - Curriculum Lead to deliver hands on construction training, build confidence and support learners towards recognised qualifications in a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.

Michelle Denny Recruitment is supporting the brilliant training organisation, Open Road Norfolk, who have now opened their new site in Thetford. We’re looking to find someone with real construction trade experience who wants to make a genuine difference to young people. If you know your way around a workshop or building environment and enjoy helping others learn, this role has real purpose and impact. Salary is £30,000pa, working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. 


You don’t need to be a teacher, just someone with solid construction knowledge, patience and a steady, supportive approach.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting young people with hands on construction and building tasks

  • Showing safe, confident workshop and site techniques

  • Helping them understand construction theory and qualification work (Pearson BTEC)

  • Building their confidence, skills and belief

  • Keeping the workshop positive, structured and safe

  • Construction trade experience or a recognised qualification

The details:

  • Working on the Shadwell Estate in Thetford

  • Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 4.30 pm

  • Occasional travel to the King’s Lynn site

  • £30,000 per year based on 37 hours a week, paid monthly.
