Michelle Denny Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in Diss to recruit a Part-Time HR Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking for a part-time role where they can genuinely add value. 


Working closely with managers and the wider team, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day HR matters, help maintain strong people processes, and bring confidence and consistency across the business.


This is a standalone position, so it will suit someone who enjoys being trusted to manage their own workload, build positive relationships, and offer practical support where it’s needed most.


The role

You’ll be involved in a broad range of HR responsibilities, including:

  • Managing HR systems, employee records, and documentation

  • Overseeing annual leave and sickness absence processes

  • Supporting managers with performance, conduct, and employee relations matters

  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries

  • Keeping contracts, policies, and procedures accurate and up to date

  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and compliance checks

  • Building trusted relationships across the organisation

You’ll also play an important part in helping managers feel supported and confident when handling people matters.


About you

We’re looking for someone who brings previous generalist HR experience and is comfortable working independently within a part-time, standalone role.

You’ll likely be someone who:

  • Has solid HR experience across day-to-day people matters

  • Is confident handling employee relations issues

  • Can offer clear, practical guidance to managers

  • Is organised, dependable, and approachable

  • Enjoys balancing process, people, and problem-solving

  • Has experience using HR systems such as BreatheHR or similar

CIPD qualification would be welcomed but is not essential.


Working pattern

  • 15–18 hours per week

  • Hybrid working arrangement

  • 2 days on site in Diss is essential


Salary

£30,000 – £34,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata for part-time hours.
