JOB DETAILS

Michelle Denny Recruitment is working in partnership with Merit Plastics to recruit a Production Engineer for their manufacturing site in Diss. This is a senior, day-based technical role with responsibility for supporting production teams, driving process optimisation and improving efficiency across the business.

About the Role

As Production Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, consistently and to the required quality standards. Working closely with production, quality and technical teams, you’ll provide technical expertise across shifts, lead improvement initiatives and support the development of Team Leaders and production staff.

This role suits someone who enjoys solving problems at a wider systems level, influencing how production operates and taking ownership of technical improvements, rather than responding to issues on a single shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production and quality teams
• Carry out tooling and process optimisations to ensure correct mouldings are produced
• Identify, lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Support cost effectiveness and efficiency improvement projects
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Team Leaders and production teams
• Work closely with Production, QA and Technical departments to resolve current and future issues
• Monitor tooling condition and performance to maintain quality and output
• Cover for Team Leader holidays where required

About You

You’ll bring strong technical experience from a manufacturing environment and be confident working across multiple teams. You’ll be comfortable balancing hands-on technical input with broader responsibility, mentoring others and contributing to longer-term operational improvements.

Experience within injection moulding or a similar manufacturing process would be advantageous, along with a strong understanding of quality systems, health and safety and process control.

Working Arrangements

• Full time, permanent position
• Day-based role
• Site based in Diss, Norfolk
