JOB DETAILS

Production Team Leader – Merit Plastic Mouldings | Diss

This is one of those roles where everything works better when the right person is in it.

We’re working with Merit Plastics, a well-established manufacturer in Diss, who needs someone to take ownership of a section of the shop floor – not from behind a desk, but properly in it. Visible, approachable, and able to keep things moving without making a fuss.

It’s a hands-on team leader role within a plastics environment. The setting is fast-paced and machine-led, where production needs to keep moving and small delays can quickly have a knock-on effect. You’ll be the person people come to when something isn’t quite working, and the one who quietly keeps things on track when it is.

This role works on a rotating shift pattern of 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, so it will suit someone comfortable with early starts and changing routines week to week.

Salary is £28,000 - £32,000pa, dependent on your experience.

Day to day, that means keeping your area organised, safe and running as it should. Supporting your team to hit targets without it feeling forced. Picking up issues early and sorting them before they turn into bigger problems. Working closely with other teams so production flows as it should.

There’s also a bit of judgement needed. Knowing when to step in, when to guide, and when to let people get on with it.

You’ll need to have come from a plastics manufacturing environment – that part isn’t flexible. You’ll already understand the pace, pressures and processes, whether that’s injection moulding or a similar setting. Without that background, it will be a tough role to step into.

Alongside that, you’ll either already be leading a team or ready to step into that space. You’re comfortable around people, clear in how you communicate, and able to keep things steady even when the day doesn’t quite go to plan.

It’s a good opportunity to join a solid local business where things are established, expectations are clear, and you can make a genuine difference to how the day runs.
